Located just 140 km (90 mi) from Cuba, Key West is an island only about 6.4 km (4 mi) long and 1.6 km (1 mi) wide.
Start off your visit on the 9th (Mon): don't miss a visit to Southernmost Point. On the next day, identify plant and animal life at Key West Butterfly & Nature Conservatory, then get engrossed in the history at Truman Little White House, then admire the majestic nature at Fort Zachary Taylor, and finally enjoy the sea views from Key West Lighthouse and Keeper's Quarters Museum.

Known for its Creole cuisine, rich musical tradition, and nearby swamps and plantations, New Orleans is one of the nation's oldest cities.
You'll discover tucked-away gems like Royal Street and Oak Alley Plantation. Get a sense of the local culture at St. Louis Cathedral and Jackson Square. Step out of New Orleans with an excursion to Laura Plantation in Vacherie--about 56 minutes away.
