The capital of the United States, the District of Columbia contains the lion's share of the country's most treasured monuments, memorials, and public museums.
Step out of the city life by going to Zipline and Adkins Arboretum. Get some cultural insight at Arlington National Cemetery and Desert Rose Ranch & Winery. Venture out of the city with trips to Spas & Wellness (in Easton) and Phillips Wharf Environmental Center (in Tilghman). There's still lots to do: take an in-depth tour of United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and pause for some photo ops at Korean War Veterans Memorial.

Atlanta

Georgia’s largest city and capital, Atlanta is a thriving metropolis anchored by its southern roots.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Charlie Elliott Wildlife Center and Reynolds Nature Preserve. Visiting Stone Mountain Park and Arabia Mountain will get you outdoors. Take a break from Atlanta with a short trip to Sandy Creek Nature Center in Athens, about 1h 30 min away. There's more to do: contemplate the long history of Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site.
