Relax by the water at Venice Beach and Boardwalk and Santa Monica Beach. Step out of the city life by going to Hermosa Beach Pier and Santa Monica Bay. The adventure continues: stroll through Will Rogers State Beach, wander the streets of Angelino Heights Historic Area, take in the waterfront at Santa Monica Pier, and admire the landmark architecture of Watts Towers.

You can do a combination of flight and train from San Francisco to Los Angeles in 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. Plan for somewhat warmer temperatures traveling from San Francisco in May, with highs in Los Angeles at 28°C and lows at 17°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 8th (Tue) early enough to go by car to San Diego.

Divided into neighborhoods with distinct characters and cultural heritages, San Diego sits just north of the Mexican border and offers visitors a blend of tourist attractions, including a lively nightlife, diverse cuisine, and a thriving musical scene.
Escape the urban bustle at La Jolla Cove and Mission Beach Park. Relax by the water at Children's Pool and La Jolla Shores Park. Step out of San Diego with an excursion to Moonlight Beach in Encinitas--about 50 minutes away. Drive from Los Angeles to San Diego in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or take a train. While traveling from Los Angeles, expect a bit cooler days and about the same nights in San Diego, ranging from highs of 24°C to lows of 19°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 12th (Sat) early enough to travel to Las Vegas.
