Carmel-by-the-Sea, often simply referred to as Carmel, is a city in Monterey County, California, United States, founded in 1902 and incorporated on October 31, 1916. Do your shopping at The Cheese Shop and Carmel Bay Company. Your itinerary includes some good beach time at Point Lobos State Reserve and Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park.
