Cambria is a seaside village in San Luis Obispo County, California, United States midway between San Francisco and Los Angeles along California State Route 1 (Highway 1). Discover out-of-the-way places like Moonstone Beach and Pasolivo Olive Oil. Get a sense of the local culture at Castoro Cellars and Adelaida Cellars. Expect cooler weather when traveling from Yosemite National Park in August: highs in Cambria hover around 18°C, while lows dip to 14°C. Carmel-by-the-Sea, often simply referred to as Carmel, is a city in Monterey County, California, United States, founded in 1902 and incorporated on October 31, 1916. Head to The Cheese Shop and Ocean Avenuefor plenty of shopping. Visit Point Lobos State Reserve and Carmel City Beach/Carmel River Beach for some beach relaxation. Explore Carmel's surroundings by going to Capitola City Beach (in Capitola), Gilroy Premium Outlets (in Gilroy) and Big Sur (McWay Falls & Limekiln State Park). The adventure continues: kick back and relax at Carmel River State Beach, make a trip to Lovers Point, and admire the architecture and history at San Carlos Borromeo de Carmelo Mission.

Getting from Cambria to Carmel by car takes about 2.5 hours. Other options: do a combination of bus and train; or take a bus. Traveling from Cambria in August, you will find days in Carmel are a bit warmer (24°C), and nights are about the same (15°C). Cap off your sightseeing on the 13th (Mon) early enough to travel to Anaheim.

Kick off your visit on the 13th (Mon): buy something for everyone on your list at Third Street Promenade and then immerse yourself in nature at Santa Monica Beach. On your second day here, get in on the family fun at Disneyland Park.
