The City of Monterey in Monterey County is located on the southern edge of Monterey Bay, on Central California's Pacific coast in California. Carmel-by-the-Sea, often simply referred to as Carmel, is a city in Monterey County, California, United States, founded in 1902 and incorporated on October 31, 1916.
