A town of hot springs and wine, Paso Robles (or "Pass of the Oaks") feels like a desert paradise to those who travel here.
On the 6th (Fri), examine the collection at Estrella Warbird Museum, do a tasting at J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines, then take in the history at Mission San Miguel Arcangel, and finally take in the exciting artwork at Studios on the Park. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: visit a coastal fixture at Piedras Blancas Light Station, then kick back and relax at William Randolph Hearst Memorial Beach, and then contemplate the long history of Friends of Hearst Castle.

Carmel-by-the-Sea, often simply referred to as Carmel, is a city in Monterey County, California, United States, founded in 1902 and incorporated on October 31, 1916. On the 8th (Sun), admire the striking features of San Carlos Borromeo de Carmelo Mission, take an in-depth tour of National Steinbeck Center, and then admire the majestic nature at Point Lobos State Reserve. Here are some ideas for day two: tour the pleasant surroundings at Lovers Point, don't miss a visit to Pacific Grove Oceanview Boulevard, then enjoy the sea views from Point Pinos Lighthouse, and finally browse the exhibits of Carmel Mission.

Pleasanton is a city in Alameda County, California, incorporated in 1894. Museum-lovers will get to explore Castle Air Museum and Patrick Amiot. Your inner history buff will appreciate Point Reyes Lighthouse and McHenry Mansion. Get out of town with these interesting Pleasanton side-trips: Santa Rosa (Charles M.
