Traveling from Salt Lake City in August, expect nights in Jackson Hole to be colder, around 7°C, while days are little chillier, around 30°C. Prepare for little chillier weather when traveling from Jackson Hole in August: high temperatures in Yellowstone National Park hover around 25°C and lows are around 3°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 19th (Sat) early enough to go by car to Cody.

A genuine cowboy city, Cody is famous for its nightly rodeos and its proximity to the protected wilderness areas of the world's first national park, now designated as one of the country's World Heritage Sites.
Explore hidden gems such as Buffalo Bill Dam and Beartooth Highway. Explore Cody's surroundings by going to Legend Rock Petroglyph Site (in Thermopolis), Meeteese Chocolatier (in Meeteetse) and Yellowstone Wildlife Sanctuary (in Red Lodge). Custer

Generally considered to be the oldest town established by European Americans in the Black Hills, Custer began as a mining town.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Harney Peak and Needles Eye Tunnel. Step out of Custer to go to Hill City and see Wade's Gold Mill, which is approximately 30 minutes away. There's lots more to do: admire the majestic nature at Custer State Park, steep yourself in history at Peter Norbeck Visitors Center, cruise along Wildlife Loop Road, and explore the activities along Sylvan Lake.

Aptly nicknamed the "Mile-High City," Denver sits at an altitude of 1,600 m (5,280 ft) above sea level, located right where the Great Plains give way to the Rocky Mountains.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to River Rafting & Tubing and Zipline.
