One of the country's most popular shopping destinations, Dallas and its sprawling suburbs include more shopping centers per capita than any other urban center in America.
You'll discover tucked-away gems like The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza and Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District. Grand Saline Salt Palace and Dinosaur World will appeal to museum buffs. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Dallas: Granbury City Beach (in Granbury), First Monday Trade Days (in Canton) and Dinosaur Valley State Park (in Glen Rose). Nicknamed the "Entertainment Capital of the World," Las Vegas sits in the middle of a desert in the southern section of Nevada.
Start off your visit on the 29th (Sat): examine the collection at Madame Tussauds Las Vegas, then take an in-depth tour of Titanic, and then wander the streets of The Strip. Step out of Los Angeles to go to Anaheim and see Disney California Adventure Park, which is approximately 40 minutes away. Do a combination of flight and train from Las Vegas to Los Angeles in 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. Expect a daytime high around 32°C in October, and nighttime lows around 19°C. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 6th (Sat) to allow time for the car ride to San Diego.
