Visit El Pueblo de Los Angeles and Santa Monica Pier for their historical value. Getty Center The Publications and Griffith Observatory are good opportunities to explore the local culture. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Los Angeles: Santa Monica (Montana Avenue, Santa Monica Farmers Market, & more). Traveling by combination of flight and train from San Francisco to Los Angeles takes 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. Take a break from the city and head to Ponquogue Beach and Long Beach. Your inner history buff will appreciate 9/11 Memorial and Gateway National Recreation.
