One of the country's most popular shopping destinations, Dallas and its sprawling suburbs include more shopping centers per capita than any other urban center in America.
Visiting Fort Worth Botanic Garden and White Rock Lake Park will get you outdoors. Visit Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District and Top O' Hill Terrace for their historical value. Get out of town with these interesting Dallas side-trips: Fort Worth (Fort Worth Water Gardens, Fort Worth Zoo, & more). Pack the 1st (Sun) with family-friendly diversions at Six Flags Over Texas. There's lots more to do: examine the collection at The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza, explore and take pictures at AT&T Stadium, appreciate the history behind John F. Despite its laid-back college vibe, Austin is an influential center for politics, technology, film, and music.

The city of Fredericksburg was settled by German immigrants in the mid-19th century, and has managed to retain its distinctly German charm.
Step out of the city life by going to Enchanted Rock State Natural Area and Wildseed Farms. As the state’s second largest city, San Antonio embodies Texas’ rich cultural heritage while maintaining the Old West charm of an oil town.

A gulf coast town with a semi-tropical climate, Corpus Christi serves as a getaway destination with a life of its own.
Step out of the city life by going to Padre Island National Seashore and Port Aransas Beach. An old colonial city and a busy cruise ship port less than an hour's drive from Houston, Galveston sits on Galveston Island and serves as a popular vacation destination for both domestic and international travelers.
Visit The Strand and The Seawall for their historical value. Go for a jaunt from Galveston to Kemah to see Kemah Boardwalk about 40 minutes away.
