Keep things going the next day: take in the spiritual surroundings of Saint Michael's Church and then admire the natural beauty at Magnolia Plantation and Gardens.

Greenville

The largest city in "upstate" South Carolina, Greenville has grown around the natural wonders of waterfalls located in the downtown area.
Discover out-of-the-way places like Basilica of Saint Lawrence and DuPont State Recreational Forest. Venture out of the city with trips to Cherokee (Oconaluftee Islands Park, Mountain Farm Museum, & more), Highlands (The Bascom, Dry Falls, & more) and Jackson County (Whiteside Mountain & Glen Falls). Spend the 10th (Fri) exploring nature at Kings Mountain National Military Park. There's still lots to do: steep yourself in history at Biltmore Estate, relax in the rural setting at Grandad's Apples, admire the sheer force of Soco Falls, and immerse yourself in nature at Black Rock Mountain State Park.
