Surrounded by mountain ranges, forests, valleys, beaches, and deserts, the metropolitan area of Los Angeles is home to over 17 million people.
For shopping fun, head to Bergamot Station or The Grove. Visit Venice Beach and Boardwalk and Manhattan Beach for some beach relaxation. Get out of town with these interesting Los Angeles side-trips: Santa Monica (Montana Avenue, Magicopolis, & more), Malibu (Malibu Lagoon State Beach & Zuma Beach) and Hermosa Beach Pier (in Hermosa Beach). Nicknamed the "Entertainment Capital of the World," Las Vegas sits in the middle of a desert in the southern section of Nevada.
Do your shopping at The Strip and Forum Shops at Caesars Palace. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Las Vegas: Valley of Fire State Park (in Overton) and Hoover Dam (in Boulder City). There's still lots to do: ponder the design of Bellagio Fountains, take in panoramic vistas at Eiffel Tower Experience at Paris Las Vegas, examine the collection at The Mob Museum, and enjoy some diversion at A Wee Kirk o'the Heather.

You can do a combination of train and flight from Los Angeles to Las Vegas in 3.5 hours. Other options are to drive; or take a bus. In April, daytime highs in Las Vegas are 31°C, while nighttime lows are 16°C. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 23rd (Mon) to allow enough time to travel to San Antonio.

As the state’s second largest city, San Antonio embodies Texas’ rich cultural heritage while maintaining the Old West charm of an oil town.
Give yourself a bit of retail therapy at The San Antonio River Walk and Shops at Rivercenter. When in San Antonio, make a side trip to see New Braunfels Conservation Society in New Braunfels, approximately 48 minutes away. There's lots more to do: admire the architecture and history at Mission San Juan Capistrano, trek along San Antonio Missions National Historical Park, get into the urban bustle at Tower of the Americas, and contemplate the long history of Mission San Jose.

You can fly from Las Vegas to San Antonio in 5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 2 hours traveling from Las Vegas to San Antonio. April in San Antonio sees daily highs of 34°C and lows of 19°C at night. Cap off your sightseeing on the 2nd (Wed) early enough to go by car to Fredericksburg.

The city of Fredericksburg was settled by German immigrants in the mid-19th century, and has managed to retain its distinctly German charm.
Step out of Fredericksburg with an excursion to Wedding Oak Winery in San Saba--about 1h 25 min away. And it doesn't end there: sample the fine beverages at Barrel Barn at Garrison Brothers Distillery, do a tasting at Chisholm Trail Winery, stop by Der Kuchen Laden, and pause for some serene contemplation at St Mary's Catholic Church.
