Getting from Austin to Fredericksburg by car takes about 2 hours. Other options: do a combination of bus and taxi; or do a combination of train, bus, and taxi. You can drive from Fredericksburg to San Antonio in 1.5 hours. Another option is to do a combination of taxi and bus. Traveling from Fredericksburg in December, things will get somewhat warmer in San Antonio: highs are around 22°C and lows about 9°C.
