Escape the urban bustle at Multnomah Falls and Silver Falls State Park. The city of Hood River is the seat of Hood River County, Oregon, United States. Kick off your visit on the 23rd (Fri): trek along Historic Columbia River Highway State Trail and then contemplate the waterfront views at Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area. Getting from Portland to Hood River by car takes about 1.5 hours. Other options: take a bus; or take a train. When traveling from Portland in March, plan for slightly colder days in Hood River, with highs around 49°F, while nights are about the same with lows around 39°F. On the 25th (Sun), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can drive to Newport.

Get in touch with nature at Cape Perpetua Visitor Center - Siuslaw National Forest and Devils Punchbowl State Natural Area.
