Known internationally as the "Horse Capital of the World," Lexington boasts a thriving economy resting largely on its thoroughbred racehorse industry.
Popular historic sites such as Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill and Old Fort Harrod State Park are in your itinerary. Get in touch with nature at Raven Run Nature Sanctuary and Kentucky Horse Park. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Lexington: White Hall State Historic Site (in Richmond) and Paris (Claiborne Farm & Cane Ridge Meetinghouse).
