Although urban sprawl remains synonymous with Houston, most of the city's tourist attractions lie within the relatively small downtown area, surrounded by diverse neighborhoods housing the nation's biggest African-American, Asian-American, and Latino communities.
On the 1st (Sun), stop by Phoenicia Specialty Foods. Keep things going the next day: explore and take pictures at Minute Maid Park, then admire nature's wide array of creatures at Houston Zoo, and then take in the dramatic scenery at Water Wall.

Known as the capital of country music, the thriving city of Nashville combines old-world southern charm with a progressive urban flair.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Lotz House Museum and Franklin on Foot. Carnton and The Johnny Cash Museum & Cafe are good opportunities to explore the local culture. When in Nashville, make a side trip to see Carter House in Franklin, approximately 30 minutes away.
