Utah's capital and most populous city, Salt Lake City boasts a small-town feel, big-city amenities, and plenty of nature on its doorstep.
Start off your visit on the 18th (Mon): take in the spiritual surroundings of The Tabernacle, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Salt Lake Temple, and then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Temple Square. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: take a stroll through Park City Main Street Historic District and then hit the slopes at Deer Valley Resort.

Toronto, Canada to Salt Lake City is an approximately 7.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of bus and train. Due to the time zone difference, you'll gain 2 hours traveling from Toronto to Salt Lake City. When traveling from Toronto in September, plan for somewhat warmer days and about the same nights in Salt Lake City: temperatures range from 31°C by day to 15°C at night. Aptly nicknamed the "Mile-High City," Denver sits at an altitude of 1,600 m (5,280 ft) above sea level, located right where the Great Plains give way to the Rocky Mountains.
Get in touch with nature at Mount Evans and Denver Zoo. Do some cultural sightseeing at Denver Museum of Nature & Science and Denver Art Museum. There's lots more to do: contemplate the long history of Union Station, Denver, CO, take in nature's colorful creations at Denver Botanic Gardens, take a stroll through 16th Street Mall, and admire all the interesting features of Coors Field.

Traveling by bus from Colorado Springs to Denver takes an hour. Alternatively, you can drive; or fly. In September, daily temperatures in Denver can reach 30°C, while at night they dip to 13°C. On the 25th (Mon), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can travel to Aspen.

Known as a ski resort town, Aspen's history goes back to its roots as a silver-mining village tucked away in an isolated valley of the Rocky Mountains.
Escape the urban bustle at Maroon Bells and Independence Pass. Get out of town with these interesting Aspen side-trips: Snowmass Sports (in Snowmass Village) and Thermal Spas (in Glenwood Springs). There's more to do: tour the pleasant surroundings at The John Denver Sanctuary and mingle with the ghosts of the past at Holden Marolt Mining & Ranching Museum.

Traveling from Denver in September, expect Aspen to be little chillier, temps between 24°C and 5°C. On the 28th (Thu), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can travel to Santa Fe.
