Georgia’s largest city and capital, Atlanta is a thriving metropolis anchored by its southern roots.
Take a break from Atlanta with a short trip to Stone Mountain Park in Stone Mountain, about 36 minutes away. There's much more to do: meet the residents at Georgia Aquarium, tour the pleasant surroundings at Piedmont Park, see a show at The Fox Theatre, and see the interesting displays at World of Coca-Cola.

You can drive from Atlanta to Asheville in 4 hours. Other options are to do a combination of flight and car; or fly. Prepare for slightly colder weather when traveling from Atlanta in January: high temperatures in Asheville hover around 48°F and lows are around 27°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 10th (Wed) early enough to go by car to Charlotte.
