Baton Rouge is the capital of the U.S. Explore the numerous day-trip ideas around Baton Rouge: Nottoway Plantation (in White Castle), Houmas House Plantation and Gardens (in Darrow) and Vacherie (Laura Plantation: Louisiana's Creole Heritage Site & Oak Alley Plantation).
