Nicknamed the "Emerald City" because of its abundant evergreen trees, Seattle is the cultural and business center of the Pacific Northwest, as well as a popular holiday destination.
Dedicate the 5th (Sun) to wine at some of the top wineries in the area. There's still lots to do: explore the world behind art at Chihuly Garden and Glass, see the interesting displays at The Museum of Flight, meet the residents at Seattle Aquarium, and admire all the interesting features of Safeco Field.

Brussels, Belgium to Seattle is an approximately 14.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of train and flight. On the 8th (Wed), don't miss a visit to Pioneer Courthouse Square, look for gifts at Powell's City of Books, admire nature's wide array of creatures at Oregon Zoo, then contemplate the long history of Pittock Mansion, then admire the natural beauty at International Rose Test Garden, and finally take in nature's colorful creations at Portland Japanese Garden. You can fly from Olympic National Park to Portland in 5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or do a combination of bus and train. In August, Portland is somewhat warmer than Olympic National Park - with highs of 34°C and lows of 18°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 9th (Thu) early enough to travel to Redwood National Park.

Located just 80 km (50 mi) north of San Francisco, Napa sits at the southern end of the scenic Napa Valley, one of the world's major wine regions.
Start off your visit on the 12th (Sun): indulge your senses at some of the top wineries in the area. On the next day, learn about winemaking at Robert Mondavi Winery, learn about winemaking at Pride Mountain Vineyards, then do a tasting at V. Sattui, and finally soar above the sights with a balloon tour.

San Francisco is a top holiday destination featuring scenic beauty and great ethnic and cultural diversity.
