Step out of Las Vegas with an excursion to Hoover Dam in Boulder City--about 42 minutes away. Fly from San Jose to Las Vegas in 3 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or do a combination of train and bus. January in Las Vegas sees daily highs of 58°F and lows of 39°F at night. Cap off your sightseeing on the 9th (Tue) early enough to travel to Phoenix.
