The capital of the United States, the District of Columbia contains the lion's share of the country's most treasured monuments, memorials, and public museums.
Popular historic sites such as Harpers Ferry National Historical Park and Antietam National Battlefield are in your itinerary. Get outdoors at Skyline Drive and Elkwallow Picnic Area. Change things up with these side-trips from Washington DC: Port of Leonardtown Winery (in Leonardtown), Copper Fox Distillery (in Sperryville) and Elms Beach Park (in Lexington Park).
