Known for its Creole cuisine, rich musical tradition, and nearby swamps and plantations, New Orleans is one of the nation's oldest cities.
French Quarter and The National WWII Museum are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Your inner history buff will appreciate Garden District and St. Louis Cathedral. When in New Orleans, make a side trip to see Global Wildlife Center in Folsom, approximately 1h 10 min away. Spend the 15th (Sat) exploring nature at Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve.
