Discover out-of-the-way places like San Clemente Pier and Mission San Juan Capistrano. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Los Angeles: Anaheim (Disneyland Park & Disney California Adventure Park). Pack the 9th (Thu) with family-friendly diversions at Universal Studios Hollywood. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 13th (Mon) so you can travel to Las Vegas.

Step off the beaten path and head to Valley of Fire State Park and Titanic. When in Las Vegas, make a side trip to see Hoover Dam in Boulder City, approximately 42 minutes away. And it doesn't end there: add some entertainment to your itinerary with Bellagio Fountains, don't miss a visit to Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas, see the interesting displays at The Mob Museum, and try to win big at Bellagio Hotel and Casino.

You can do a combination of train and flight from Los Angeles to Las Vegas in 3.5 hours. Other options are to drive; or take a bus. In August, Las Vegas is somewhat warmer than Los Angeles - with highs of 45°C and lows of 30°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 19th (Sun) so you can take a bus to Death Valley National Park.
