Known as the "Venice of America" because of its extensive network of navigable waterways, Fort Lauderdale welcomes over 10 million annual visitors, most of them attracted by the city's popular beaches and marinas.
Lincoln Road and Art Deco Historic District are good opportunities to explore the local culture. We've included these beaches for you: John D. MacArthur Beach State Park and Fort Lauderdale Beach. Explore the numerous day-trip ideas around Fort Lauderdale: The Barnacle Historic State Park (in Miami), Shops at Merrick Park (in Coral Gables) and Everglades National Park (Shark Valley & Anhinga Trail). There's still lots to do: enjoy the sand and surf at South Beach, stroll through Hollywood Beach, and look for all kinds of wild species at Loggerhead Marinelife Center.

Kids will appreciate attractions like Siesta Beach and Saint Pete Beach. You'll enjoy a bit of beach vacationing at Clearwater Beach and Bean Point. The adventure continues: enjoy the sand and surf at Crescent Beach and tour the pleasant surroundings at Turtle Beach.

For most people, any mention of Orlando immediately conjures up images of sprawling theme parks filled with characters plucked right out of popular animated movies.
You'll visit kid-friendly attractions like Happily Ever After Fireworks and Walt Disney World Resort. Pack the 11th (Mon) with family-friendly diversions at Universal's Islands of Adventure. Have a day of magic on the 13th (Wed) at Magic Kingdom Park. There's lots more to do: get in on the family fun at SeaWorld Orlando, look for gifts at The LEGO Store, and play a few rounds at Pirate's Cove Adventure Golf.

Drive from Siesta Key to Orlando in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of bus and train; or take a bus. Expect a daytime high around 38°C in June, and nighttime lows around 26°C. On the 14th (Thu), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can travel to Washington DC.
