Los Alamos is a townsite and census-designated place in Los Alamos County, New Mexico, United States, built upon four mesas of the Pajarito Plateau and the adjoining White Rock Canyon. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Los Alamos: San Francisco de Assisi Mission Church (in Ranchos De Taos), El Santuario de Chimayo Historic Site (in Chimayo) and Puye Cliff Dwellings (in Espanola). The adventure continues: explore the ancient world of Bandelier National Monument, take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Jemez Mountains, deepen your understanding at Ghost Ranch, and get curious at Bradbury Science Museum.

For where to stay, ratings, maps, and more tourist information, refer to the Los Alamos trip planner.

If you are flying in from Australia, the closest major airport is Albuquerque International Sunport Airport. In November, plan for daily highs up to 11°C, and evening lows to 1°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 16th (Thu) so you can travel back home.
