Los Alamos

Los Alamos is a townsite and census-designated place in Los Alamos County, New Mexico, United States, built upon four mesas of the Pajarito Plateau and the adjoining White Rock Canyon. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Sipapu Ski & Summer Resort and Christ of the Desert Monastary. Change things up with these side-trips from Los Alamos: The Stables at Tamaya (in Santa Ana Pueblo), Jemez Trail National Scenic Byway (in Jemez Springs) and San Francisco de Assisi Mission Church (in Ranchos De Taos). There's more to do: identify plant and animal life at Bandelier National Monument.

If you are flying in from Germany, the closest major airport is Albuquerque International Sunport Airport. In November, daily temperatures in Los Alamos can reach 11°C, while at night they dip to 1°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 16th (Thu) so you can travel back home.
