In many ways much more Asian than American, Honolulu is Hawaii's largest city and its center of government, transportation, commerce, and tourism.
Visit Kailua Beach Park and Waikiki Beach for some beach relaxation. Escape the urban bustle at Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve and Diamond Head State Monument. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Honolulu: Haleiwa (Waimea Bay & Sunset Beach Park). There's still lots to do: explore the different monuments and memorials at National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific.
