Your itinerary includes some good beach time at Wells Beach and Old Orchard Beach. Step off the beaten path and head to Cape Neddick Nubble Lighthouse and Portland Head Light. When in Ogunquit, make a side trip to see Portland Museum of Art in Portland, approximately 1h 05 min away. There's much more to do: enjoy the sand and surf at Ogunquit Beach, stroll through Long Sands Beach, identify plant and animal life at Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge, and stop by Kittery Trading Post.

Drive from Boston to Ogunquit in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or take a bus. Traveling from Boston in September, plan for slightly colder nights in Ogunquit, with lows around 10°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 23rd (Sat) to allow enough time to drive to Stowe.

Stowe bustles in winter when skiers and snowboarders flock here to challenge themselves on the long, steep trails careening down Vermont's tallest peak, Mt.
Kick off your visit on the 23rd (Sat): stop by The Cabot Annex Store and then hike along Stowe Recreation Path. On the next day, see the interesting displays at Shelburne Museum, then stroll through Burlington Bike Path, and then don't miss a visit to Church Street Marketplace.

Drive from Ogunquit to Stowe in 4 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of train and bus; or take a train. Expect a daytime high around 25°C in September, and nighttime lows around 9°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 24th (Sun) early enough to travel back home.
