Trip Planner:   USA  /  Massachusetts  /  Boston  /  Trinity Church
Erected in the 19th century, Trinity Church remains one of Boston's most famous places of worship. The current complex, built between 1872 and 1877, was designed by Henry Hobson Richardson and is considered both the birthplace and archetype of the Richardsonian Romanesque style of architecture. It is characterized by its clay roof, use of rough stone, heavy arches, and large tower. Inside you can find a number of colorful murals that cover over 2,000 sq m (21,5000 sq ft), all of which are works of American artists. Take a guided tour to learn more about the history and architecture of this beloved Boston institution. Tours are offered daily; children 15 and under are free with a paying adult. Trinity Church is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our world travel planner, Boston Edition.
