Chattanooga Zoo, Chattanooga

4.0
#2 of 14 in Outdoors in Chattanooga
Chattanooga Zoo is a small but well-populated zoo with a mixture of exotic and local animals that are divided into six areas. Enter Gombe Forest to see chimpanzees and the African crowned crane. Move through to the Corcovado Jungle for a look at capybaras, jaguars, and the colorful macaws. In the Himalayan Passage, try to find the shy red panda, with its distinctive dark eyes and banded tail. In Walkin' the Tracks, you'll encounter North American animals, while Warner Park Ranch is a haven for domesticated animals. In the Deserts and Forests of the World, you can view meerkats and sloths. • The Chattanooga Zoo is a great place to visit. Although there aren't many exotic animals, there's still plenty to see! It took us almost two hours to see everything. They have a petting zoo, as well. ...  more »
  • This is a small zoo but very nice for day out with the grandchildren. We had a wonderful time! Well kept, clean and easy walk.  more »

  • I purchased the season pass for my wife and my toddler son, and we've loved every minute of it. I think I favorite part of the season pass is that we can go anytime, without pressure to visit everything all at once. The staff is friendly and helpful, and I don't think I've stumped them with an animal question yet. The zoo is small, but they pack a lot of fun into a small space. That goes double for a small child.
  • I love going here! It's a very small zoo, but that is why I like it so much. They have a good variety of animals who all seem very well taken care of. I always love seeing the snow leopards and red pandas. They're my personal favourites! This is a great place to go for a couple of hours.
  • There are some really cool exhibits at this zoo even with its small size. You can tell the people here truly care about animals and there is a lot of effort put in to these exhibits. I never expected to see red pandas or snow leopard in a zoo that is this small in comparison to bigger, more extravagant zoos in larger cities that I've visited before. There is a standard zoo-fare cafe and a gift shop as you might expect to accommodate the exhibits as well. As a whole, this zoo was a great surprise. Some of the exhibits could use some work and the whole flow of the place is very unorganized and seems very haphazard.
  • The kids loved it. Very nice and clean. They have a petting zoo free with admission. Then we played at the park right outside the zoo entrance. Great day
  • This is a small zoo and perfect size for families with small children who only want to stay for a couple hours. There is an amazing playground out front and the parking is free. Unfortunately they so not have many of the common zoo animals (bears, lions, elephants, zebras, giraffes, gorilla, etc.) The staff is not friendly and the few times I visited they were smoking, stored cigarettes in the train for kids to see, and cursed as they walked around the visitors.
