  • A wonderful place to visit, especially if you are visiting the area for the first time. Gift shop in side, as well as a "museum" of sorts. Highly recommend getting a guided tour. The guide will either drive your car or ride with you. I fully recommend you let them drive (they know where they are going!). Most guides are locals that want to help others understand the rich culture and heritage of this place. They are all very happy to be guiding and are often a WEALTH of knowledge. If you are staying a few days, get a guide first (call ahead to reserve one). Let them take you around and show you the different sites. Make notes of where you might want to go back and go back later!
  • The National Military Park was a great place to visit. Be sure to check out everything there, so you don't miss out on something. You buy tickets for several thing there and then take a bus to actually visit them. Familiarize yourself with the area before you visit and make a list of things you want to see and do while you are there. The staff is helpful, so don't be afraid to ask. Even the bus drivers are open to answering questions. Lots of history to explore in the area. You'll need several days to see everything.
  • This is a must see place no matter if you are a history buff or not. I would recommend getting a private tour because although you can go visit at your own place they have so much more info that is priceless. Expect to take a full day to see the park if not more. Also, PLEASE stay on the paths....this IS a historic site and needs to be respected and kept nice.
  • I spent two full days at Gettysburg and want to go back. The bus tours are absolutely worth the money. Much better than driving around the park yourself. The cyclorama was cool too; more than just a side item.
  • If you’re attending for the first time or 10th, I encourage you to book a private tour. Absolutely the best experience you’ll have. The guides are not only extremely knowledgeable, they are passionate about what they do. Our guide, Jim, made the history alive, personal and moving. His humor was quite enjoyable, as well. I went back a second day just to take it all in with a completely new appreciation for this historic battle.
