  • Loved the short hike. Wear good shoes, as the entire path is rocky, and bring a sweatshirt or coat, it’s chilly up there when the wind picks up. The trail isn’t marked well, so while everyone kept to ...  more »
  • Found this short, moderate hike up rocky incline by accident. Half mile up sat and ate lunch at a beautiful lake, watched folks jump off cliff to water and others slide down snowy, year round snow mou...  more »
  • This place is like a little slice of heaven!! The hike up is a moderate 30 minute trek uphill and very rocky but do worth the end result. The water is extremely clear but super cold. Crazy to see snow...  more »

  • Awesome stop on your way to Steamboat. Worth the hour detour. About 10 min off the highway and a 40 min round trip hike. Longer if you hike past the lake and up to the glacier (add 20 min). Bring $5 for parking. This is a moderate hike. Easy trail but steep. Bring water and sunscreen as this is 10,000ft.
  • First time in Colorado and this was our first trail! It was fairly easy for some one as inexperienced as me. For a native born Texan, seeing snow and a frozen lake was super exciting and I loved every moment out there! Definitely wanna come back and see it in the summer!
  • Expect a rocky hike up to the glacier, but when you get there it is breathtaking. The glacier itself doesn't seem very large (at least from what we could see from the immediate area), but the views of the mountains behind are stunning. Looks like the trail continues past the glacier as well. There is a $5 drop box for parking, so bring exact change. There is an outhouse in the parking area for public use. Great hike/experience if you are visiting Denver and don't have enough time to make it out to rocky mountain national park.
  • The glacier was WAY smaller than I'd expected, but it was a sight to see nonetheless. The hike up is moderate, mostly uphill, but easy to make it there and back in about an hour and some change (plus time for photos).
  • Very awesome spot to hike to. Worth the trip if you are traveling along I-70 and want a little detour.
