Bellagio Fountains, Las Vegas

#1 of 4,847 in Nightlife in United States
Whether you're seeking romance or awe, check out Bellagio Fountains, a massive water feature with choreographed performances set to light and music. Located in front of the Bellagio hotel, the display is visible from numerous vantage points around the city. See a different show every half hour, with varied lighting effects and original music from renowned artists, including classical and popular tunes. The fountains, set in an artificial lake and modeled after a similar venue in Italy, feature an enormous network of pipes with more than 1,200 nozzles that can shoot water as high as 140 m (460 ft). This is one of the most iconic spots to visit in Las Vegas. The Bellagio does these free fountain shows everyday. Of course the ones at night are stunning but the ones in the day are beautiful also. There are 4 different songs that the fountains are set to and each is fun to watch. They go off every 15-30 minutes. I think it is worth staying and watching all of them. There are usually crowds gathered around so finding a place to stand can be tricky. They have people selling drinks all over the sidewalk behind the fountains. A nice view of the fountains is from the top of the Eiffel Tower at the Paris hotel. A trip to Las Vegas would not be the same without seeing the Bellagio Fountains.

OMG Best Classiest joint on the strip. Hands down. Just looks alone. Other than that a little pricey but you get what you pay for. Oh, the pools and restaurants are beautiful. Picture perfect. Must see for all in Vegas. Also definitely a competitor for MGM shows.

This never gets old. I've been checking this out for many years and this week we did a "stay-cation" here at the Bellagio and have had a great time. The dealers are great the restaurants are amazing and then we came and walked the Strip and caught the fountain show. It's never a bad time here. Love it

It's just fantastic how the fountains dance to the music. I'm told they have at least 20 songs to play from. My favourite was The Beatles 'Lucy in the sky with Diamonds'. You can view it from the strip or the side of the The Bellagio or if your lucky and you have made a reservation months in advance, from The Olive restaurant, that overlooks it. Las Vegas can be romantic, once away from the crazy amount of chapels, and this place is just one them. Go crazy. Oh yeah, the food is good too!

As a Vegas local I can attest to the quality of this show. Columns of water shoot 450ft in to the air and are followed by a thunderous boom when they leap out of the lake. Seriously... it's really loud. This combined with nozzles that sway back and forth and spin creates a combination of effects that can intricately coordinate with any song. The choreography is top notch, and every song (although using the same types of nozzles) is expressed entirely uniquely. The thing about this show is that to someone who isn't paying much attention, it's impressive for about 5 minutes. They see how high the water goes and that's about it for them. If you really concentrate on what you're watching, you can see every nuance of a song expressed by very deliberate movement of the nozzles. You HAVE to see the Bellagio fountains.
