Hollywood & Highland, Los Angeles

4.0
Shop ‘til you drop at the shopping mecca of Hollywood & Highland, one of the most frequented attractions in the city. The center is home to two theatres--of note is the Dolby Theatre, the host of the annual Academy Awards. Over 70 shops, two nightclubs, several restaurants, a movie theatre, and a bowling alley also call the complex home. The centerpiece of the complex is a massive archway, modeled to be an exact replica of the one seen in the Babylon scene from the movie "Intolerance." • Lots of people, bunch of cool places to check out. Few hot dog stands, which is cool to see. They made gourmet hot dogs. Do recommend checking out.  more »

  • Very nice neighborhood with all kinds of different shops and restaurants. There are several ways you can pass the time there. Of course there is the walk of fame which you can walk from start to finish. Or you can just try to find the start of the person you like. Then there are the Hop-on hop-off buses of all kinds which you can use to get around. And lots of more options
  • This is a great place to bring out of town friends to get an overview of Hollywood. Where else can you see the Hollywood sign, Chinese Theater and the stars in the sidewalk all in one place? Want a bus tour of Hollywood homes? You can start here. I am giving 3 stars because you need to be very aware of your surroundings and travel with other people for safety. That said, I am a repeat visitor and have been for years.
  • I was down there recently. This area is a feast for the eyes! You never know what you're going to see and experience. Many street performers, street vendors, musicians, shops, food and activities. Fun fun fun! Easy access with taking the subway, once off the subway, you walk up the escalator and you're right there! Sometimes I drive down there and find parking within a few blocks for free or park at the Kodak for a fee.
  • So much great fun and nice spots around this area. The surprising thing to me is for Hollywood to be as active through the day, the area closes down at 2 a.m. and it gets to be fairly quiet. Loved the area and people. Awesome experience.
  • Visited here from Georgia Had a great time. Everyone was very cool. Lots of places to shop. I enjoyed just people watching. People from all over the world come here and hang out. Thanks California! You were a gracious host. Will without a doubt be back to visit
