  • Miami has a lot of museums and incredible places to visit, and one of these is to visit Vizcaya, since it houses one of the most impressive museums in USA. Its subtropical gardens are wonderful and full of peace. Vizcaya, a mansion with a wealth of art located in Coconut Grove is one of the historical places of the United States. Its gardens, architecture, attractions and breathtaking beauty is one of the places that tines to know. James Deering, the owner, wanted to create the myth that their home in Miami is named after an Explorer. In doing so, it provided to Vizcaya an air of foreign adventure and discovery, completely appropriate for a property that widely depended on ideas and artifacts from the Atlantic Ocean. Explorers of the Age of Discovery that inspired Deering traveled to the Americas to conquer its people and its natural resources. By contrast, Deering and his companions of the gilded age, representing the new industrial wealth of the United States, traveled to Europe to collect cultural treasures. After the death of Deering, a small team of staff were responsible for the maintenance of the villa. Miami-Dade County acquired the property in 1952 and turned it into a museum. Today it is a national historic landmark. The best way to explore the vast mansion and gardens is to take a brochure which outlines a map with the route and some descriptions of the place. Some of them are: lobby, bedrooms, kitchen, the music room, the pantry of Butler, the dining room, the great stone barge, the statues, and the incredible rides stone vessel located at the front of the mansion. Vizcaya welcomes visitors daily from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. less Tuesday and some special dates. Some facts to consider: Vizcaya provides the main house guided tours. Tours are given in English, lasts 45 minutes and include the first floor of the main house, and certain areas of the gardens. The timetable of the tours are announced daily. It must be careful with the steps, floors and uneven terrain around the main house, gardens and other areas, so it is advisable to go in rubber shoes. They have no where keep bags, and the entrance of very large bags are not allowed. For those who want to take your pet: only service animals are allowed. To take professional photographs, it has an additional cost. They have a coffee on the left side of the mansion, where you can drink and eat some snacks, cold or hot, as well as having the option to purchase a souvenir of the Museum. Here I leave the address of this magnificent Museum: 3251 South Miami Avenue Miami FL 33129 hope that can enjoy it just as I did! My Network @braunkarina

  • This is a beautiful place! Don't go by how the building looks from outside. Once you get in, you'll understand why so many great reviews about it. Everything from the wall to the furniture is one of a kind! I specifically loved the food lift from the kitchen to the dining. Can't imagine how someone could live in such a luxurious house in olden times. A Must visit if you are in Miami. Checkout the structure overlooking the Biscayne Bay in the pic I've posted.
  • Gorgeous! It was like stepping into another country. The architecture was so crazy beautiful. Inside it was like a Victorian wonderland with many different interesting styles. Outside was gorgeous with the docks and the blue water. Then there were gardens that were just perfect. It was crazy how amazing this place was. I would most definitely recommend this place if you have a few days in Miami.
  • Beautiful villa/garden that functions as a museum. Worth going there and spending 2-3 hours exploring this great piece of artwork. Totally recommend taking the audio guide - offers a lot of additional info that you don’t get by simply going around and reading the boards. The museum used to be the winter retreat location for an American businessman who was managing an agriculture machinery company. Place combines Italian, Greek lavishness with a modern twist.
  • Gorgeous place. Mostly reminded me of Italian palaces, but there's also French, Spanish and some Chinese influences. The mix of styles makes it a bit quirky at times. The outside area by the water makes you feel like you're in Venice, while the gardens make you feel like you're at a big French palace. Take your time to walk through the gardens, they're absolutely stunning. Some really funny shaped trees here too!
  • This was my first time here. My friend picked it out to come as our excursion and I'm glad we did. I love royal houses and antiquated aspects of pat living. The house was beautiful. The the backyard was my favorite part. They had four weddings going on which was fine. Everyone still had enough room to walk around and sight see without interfering. I looked online to see how much it would be to have a wedding here and it wasn't bad. That's a goal and reason of mine to come back
