Zoo Miami, Miami

4.3
#1 of 20 in Parks in Miami
Florida’s oldest zoological garden, Zoo Miami is home to over 2,000 animals across more than 100 exhibits. An air-conditioned monorail takes a loop around the zoo and is a comfortable and convenient way to get around the site, providing an aerial view of some exhibits. There are four main areas of the zoo: Asia, Africa, Amazon and beyond, and Australia. Those who want to experience animals up close can brush an Indian rhinoceros or feed a giraffe for an additional fee. For more information about the zoo and its animals, take a narrated tram ride or guided tour. For Zoo Miami and beyond, use our Miami road trip planning site to get the most from your Miami vacation.

  • Recommended for families, you can feed the giraffes, you know a wide variety of animals. They have bicycle rental services for families, they have a restaurant area. I love

  • We liked the zoo. Lots of animals we did not see before. Some areas feel like you are in a jungle or rainforest - very well done. Other sections have animals spaced apart so when you walk you see an a...  more »
  • Tickets took the package on the site Go Miami Card with 20% discount, it came out on $19.63 adult. We traveled by car, arrived around 12 days. Parking on a weekday (Tuesday) was virtually empty, the people in the Park was a bit. Moved through the Park on foot, before closing time (5:00 pm) bypass all, last sector avoided almost jogging. Gift shop closes at 5 pm, so if you want to succeed, go early. Great Zoo, many animals, spacious aviaries. There are enclosed areas a couple of times to wait out the rain. On the territory of many toilets, drinking fountains, benches. Quite comfortable and green areas, squirrels, there are peacocks and IBIS (white bird). Also on the territory of the monorail train rides, worth in the region of $4, it has 5 stops in different sectors of the Park, but we did not use them. Entertainment in the Park:-Looked a little shows in the amphitheatre (show schedule is on the website and on signs in the Park). Animals a little, show lasts 15 minutes. Very nice talking parrot. -Feeding giraffes do not have time: finish promptly at 4, us 4:03 are no longer allowed, had to watch from the side. -Feeding parrots break too could not-all the time too many people inside, running only a certain amount. Ate together with ibisami, which is hosted in the Café: beat flew to tables and stole fries. Two sandwiches and two drinks cost us about $30. All in all a great zoo with the children, it is better to take a great bike that does not get tired to walk.

  • First time visiting the Miami Zoo and we were not disappointed. Make sure you feed the giraffes and the birds. It is an amazing experience. The animals have so much room to run around in. Make sure you get the plus package so you can ride the monorail whenever you want. Love getting are commemorative photographs at the end whilst exiting the zoo. Well worth the money. My only complaint is that if you don't make it too the show right at the time of the show they close the entrance. As empty as the zoo is I think it would be important to allow people to walk into any given time.
  • The Zoo Miami is one of the best zoos I have been to, having been to several in various states and countries. This one really stood out near the top. A lot of the animals were very active and the staff was very helpful with any questions we had. It is a wonderful place if you enjoy looking and learning about animals in a "cage-free" (no bars, just glass or open top) zoo. The new Everglades area is very nice the otters were very active and playful. Lots of the exhibits in that area had interactive portions such as crawling in a tunnel under a massive crocodile! The day we went the crowd was not there which made picture opportunities always available to get the perfect shot. I would highly recommend this zoo if you love zoos, have kids, or just want somewhere to walk around.
  • Living in Miami you start to realize that there's isn't a lot of kid friendly activities in this city as other parts of the US and even Florida. Luckily for us we have the Miami Zoo which sits on a huge property and and has amazing assortment of animals to see. The best part is that the Zoo is kid friendly and has options for them as well. The staff is very welcoming and friendly and has a lot of knowledge. I would recommend this to anyone
  • Highly recommended! By far the cleanest, nicest, most beautiful zoo I've ever visited. If you're local, I highly recommend pay for the annual pass, especially if you have children. This park is huge so bring comfortable shoes. They do provide bike-cart rentals. There are two sizes, the smaller size if great for about 4 adults and the larger can fit 6 adults. These bike rentals can get pricey if you plan on staying in the zoo for a long time so be aware of that. There's so much you can do here! I don't even think you can visit every corner of the zoo in one visit. They have live shows, an areas for the kids to play with water, plenty of areas to eat and drink. What's really great about this zoo is their holiday events. For example, Easter in coming up and I am sure they will have an event for the kids. I can write pages on how good this place is. Go check this place out!
  • Big zoo. Slow monorail so you can see the animals. 2 & 4 seat bike rentals. Lots of Children’s activities. Play areas, splash pad, petting zoo. Bring a hat. The aviary is awesome if you want to get up close with a large variety of birds. Cool days and the monkeys are playful. Ample restrooms reasonably clean for a large attraction. Food prices are high, but no higher than any other Florida attraction.
