Brooklyn Bridge, New York City

Walk across one of New York’s most iconic landmarks, Brooklyn Bridge, while admiring breathtaking views of the city skyline. One of the oldest suspension bridges in the country, it spans almost 486 m (1,600 ft) across the East River, connecting the boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn. Take the subway to Brooklyn and walk back along the bridge toward Manhattan for the best views of the city, but not before wandering through the Brooklyn Bridge Park. If you’re hungry, stop for a famous slice of Brooklyn pizza before heading back over the bridge. • Beautiful day to start quite early the crossed the Brooklyn Bridge with the Sun in the back. We take the subway to Brooklyn in order to make the crossing walking to Manhattan. This is important, otherwise you will return you permanently to have great views. It's really a tour not to be missed. For us, the best.

  • We went to subwaylla Heightsille of Brooklyn, we took great pictures, accept donations and we walked the Brooklyn Bridge along the back to Manhattan. Absolutely gorgeous "terrace". You should go on working days-ap, not so great on the bridge.

  • It's the place with a lot of energy. Beautiful, Grand and very interesting romantic Bridge. If you want to take a date go ahead and enjoy. Fresh air, big buildings like the wall from Manhattan side and huge bay you need to find time for this trip. Be happy same people who arrived around the world. And no matter how old are you. Be happy without doubts here.
  • Enjoyed walking across the bridge from Manhattan to Brooklyn. One of the oldest bridges in the US completed in 1883. The bridge is 1.3 miles long and offers great views. The walk across the bridge can take 30 to 50 minutes depending on how busy it is and how fast you walk. Another fun way to enjoy the bridge is to ride a bike. If walking across the bridge be considerate of bike riders and commuters and do not block the bike path.
  • Nice place for photos and walking. Like several other tourist places, I feel that waking up the bridge is just for the experience but you'll get better photo ops near the bridge instead. If you do go on the bridge, go from the Brooklyn side as I felt that the view was better from there. It's usually crowded so be prepared for quick clicks.
  • This bridge is one of those must see sites when you come to Brooklyn. The city has changed so much in the past 20 years its almost unbelievable but the bridge still reminds me of the real Brooklyn. The view you get walking down the promenade is beautiful. It around 1.5 miles long but it's an easy way to go to Manhattan.
  • The Brooklyn Bridge is a hybrid cable-stayed/suspension bridge in New York City and is one of the oldest roadway bridges in the United States. Started in 1869 and completed fourteen years later in 1883, it connects the boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn, spanning the East River. It has a main span of 1,595.5 feet (486.3 m) and was the first steel-wire suspension bridge constructed. It was originally called the New York and Brooklyn Bridge and the East River Bridge, but it was later dubbed the Brooklyn Bridge, a name coming from an earlier January 25, 1867, letter to the editor of the Brooklyn Daily Eagle[8] and formally so named by the city government in 1915. Since opening, it has become an icon of New York City and was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1964 and a National Historic Civil Engineering Landmark in 1972.
