  • We got there around 10 am and had to wait in line for about an hour and it was very crowded but once we got in it was our best museum experience. The museum was so big that we did not have enough time...  more »

  • This is the Museum that everyone should visit. Before you get to book via internet the entrance, you will avoid queues. Before arriving, always with the help of the internet, select what you want to see absolutely. Not worth thinking about losing your legs walking among the many salt. Enjoy what you like in the past. Discover the Egyptians, contemporary, art pre/colombiana. You will recognize that you've seen in textbooks, you'll be thrilled by climbing on the roof overlooking the city and the Central Park. Go there in the company of a person with whom to share emotions.

  • Best museum in NYC. So much to see in one day that the best thing would be to come early and leave at closing. I would recommend visiting the big exhibits first than move to the smaller exhibits. If you drive into the garage, you will be able to purchase a ticket in the basement. The lines usually move faster in the basement. The recommended price is $25 for residents of NY but you can give whatever you want. For everyone else you will have to pay $25. TIP: If you plan on visiting multiple times it might be worth getting a membership.
  • Excursions to the Metropolitan in Russian Of course the Metropolitan is a huge museum. You can not bypass the day. But you can get free excursions, which are held in the museum not only in English, but in nine languages, including Russian. You can find information about excursions on the museum's website. But, usually, they take place on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at 12:30. Stunningly interesting excursions. The best way to get acquainted with the museum. With very different eyes, we looked at this unique collection of works of art brought from all over the world.
  • The Met presents over 5,000 years of art from around the world for everyone to experience and enjoy. The Museum lives in three iconic sites in New York City—The Met Fifth Avenue. The Metropolitan Museum of Art was founded on April 13, 1870, "to be located in the City of New York, for the purpose of establishing and maintaining in said city a Museum and library of art, of encouraging and developing the study of the fine arts, and the application of arts to manufacture and practical life, of advancing the general knowledge of kindred subjects, and, to that end, of furnishing popular instruction." Since it was founded in 1870, The Met has always aspired to be more than a treasury of rare and beautiful objects. Every day, art comes alive in the Museum's galleries and through its exhibitions and events, revealing both new ideas and unexpected connections across time and across cultures. On January 13, 2015, the Trustees of The Metropolitan Museum of Art reaffirmed this statement of purpose and supplemented it with the following statement of mission: The Metropolitan Museum of Art collects, studies, conserves, and presents significant works of art across all times and cultures in order to connect people to creativity, knowledge, and ideas.
  • Flexible admission fees, with discounts for students. In fact, one may enjoy the museum just with a few cents. Its exhibitions are just astonishing and well arranged. One may get wander for hours watching them and reading their notes. The whole staff is not very friendly, but it's a museum, not a theme park. I liked it a lot. In my opinion, it's a must to visit it if you're going to be stay in Manhattan or nearby.
  • It is one of the spots visitors must visit unless you absolutely hate history and art. The museum is donation based, well-maintained, huge, diverse and holds occasional exhibitions of famous artists and painters. It also has beautiful cafe and a restaurant if you want to grab a bite. Staff is very helping. It is more useful if you plan your visit before your arrival as the museum has several sections and varying hours.
