#11 of 23 in Theme Parks in Orlando
Cool off with a relaxing dip in one of the world's largest outdoor wave pools at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park. As one of two aquatic parks at Walt Disney World Resort, the complex offers an array of water attractions ranging from gentle wading pools to exhilarating thrill rides. Speed down five stories at almost 64 km/h (40 mph) on the Humunga Kowabunga waterslide, or take a chance snorkeling with dozens of sharks and stingrays at Shark Reef. Feel free to pack your own lunch, or stop by one of the park’s many outdoor eateries. Arrive sooner rather than later in terms of both lines and temperatures. Typhoon lagoon has always been one of my favorite things in Disney World. I absolutely love the massive wave pool. There are a variety of slides around the park as well as a lazy river, so there's som...  more »

Staff were really nice. I expected more since it is a Disney Water Park. I prefer Blizzard Beach. It's not a bad park..but I agree with an above review the rides are not that thrilling; except the one that goes straight down. And I agree with someone's post that this water park may be best suited for the 12 and under crowd. I found it to be small. But the food was good. Although some complained that the cost of food was high. I felt the cost of food was comparable for a Disney park.

Such a fun place to visit! The water roller coaster is so fun. The wave pool is the best we have ever been to! Huge wave! They have a great store at this park, I bought a few bathing suits and a towel bag. The donuts are delicious, who would have thought a water park would have such awesome donuts!

This is a very nice water park and it's moderately priced compared to other Disney Parks. The ticket is almost half of what it would cost to visit Magic Kingdom plus you don't have the $20 parking fee. I would suggest getting there early so you can secure a lounge chair to place your belongings. I never bring towels from home since they rent them for $2 each and you don't have to worry about carrying wet towels full of sand with you. I would also suggest bringing plenty of snacks if you have kids. The kids meal went up to over $9 each. I used to pay about $6.50 at the parks so I guess they went up by that much. I would also buy the refillable cup which costs about $11. They have unlimited refills and make a nice souvenir. I strongly recommend getting complementary life jackets for the kids in the wave pool. There's a 6 foot wave that comes every couple of minutes and drags you. I personally found the wave pool to be a bit dangerous for small kids so use with caution. If you are a tourist looking for a Disney magical experience, this might not be your best choice. There are no characters whatsoever throughout the park and they do not have Disney decor. Other than that, the park is excellent with plenty of rides to go on.

A classic Disney water park. A nice refreshing different thing to do when your looking for something to do that's not one of the theme parks. Lots of great slides and water attractions. Wave pool is phenomenal. A giant surf wave plows itself down every few minutes throughout the day. The brand new Miss Adventure Falls is a great family raft slide and the Humunga Cowabunga still terrifies people just like it did 20 years ago. Also check out Crush n Gusher, 3 different water coaster slides that each have unique twists and turns...

Of the two Disney water Parks, Typhoon Lagoon hands down has better lazy river, wave pool, & slides. The ONLY thing I prefer Blizzard Beach (BB) over it is the fact that BB's seating/lounging areas are majority concrete, which is nicer than getting sand into everything you own. They both offer rental towels, areas and have showers/changing rooms.
