  • This museum is amazing. I enjoyed every minute and inch of the ship. Some of the facts about life on a ship would amaze you.  more »

  • A wonderful historical find. They give you audio devices to scan at certain places to learn about the different parts of the ship, planes, and helicopters. Very informational. They mostly have vets working or volunteering there and they are super sweet and good with kids. So many photo ops and what a view from the ship. You can see to Coronado Island. Great field trip opportunity. Or even a family day getaway.
  • The Midway was a tourism treasure! I love military history and this gem did not disappoint. It is packed with history and interesting facts. It provided a special tour for the higher offices in the ship. On the day I visited, many volunteer veterans were aboard offering stories and information. Vern gave an especially meaningful talk but all the presenters did a great job. Allow for 3-4 hours to take in all the Midway has to offer.
  • So glad My boyfriend and I visited during our weekend trip to SD. It blew our minds! It was such a fun and educational experience. The ship was well kept and the museum gives a real-world glimpse of life aboard an aircraft carrier. There is a Parking lot directly in front of the museum. I paid $10- inexpensive, especially for the convenience. A lot of walking! Take a comfy pair of shoes and expect to spend at least 3 hours here. There's so much to see and the time just flies by!
  • Amazing way to learn about Naval history on an aircraft carrier. Extremely interesting to see how a floating city operated for almost 50 years. Pick up the self guiding audio tour after you enter the carrier to maximize your tour experience and learning. It comes in multiple languages as well as many attractions have simpler versions for small kids to understand better. The guided bridge tour is worth the wait as most of the tour guides are vets who served aboard the carrier at one time.
  • Very cool tour. Definitely worth it, especially if you can find a coupon on Groupon or something similar. You get to tour a whole lot of the ship and much of it is unguided, letting you spend the time you want without feeling rushed. The upper section on the flight deck with the command center is a guided tour but it's quite interesting. There's a number of old aircraft on the deck that you can check out. The main hangar is also filled with lots of cool things to see and try. There's also a small restaurant, though I didn't eat there.
