Lombard Street, San Francisco

Venture along the zigzagging curves and steep hills of Lombard Street, the “crookedest” street in the world. Located in the heart of San Francisco, the winding street zigzags downhill past a number of historical Victorian homes and colorful gardens, making it one of the city’s most iconic streets. Take the cable car to the top of the hill and then wander down the street on foot to stop and admire the stately mansions, blooming flowers, and stunning views of the surrounding city. • One of the coolest places I've seen. Everyone knows that it is famous and it has been seen in TV and movies. To see it it person is even better. Amazing how many people were standing around taking photos. Even more amazing the amount of traffic that goes down the road everyday.
  • The most crooked Street in the world, Lombard street is a sight to behold... And quite the driving experience! If you're bold enough to brave the U-turn-like curves winding down the hill, be forewarned that you'll spend a solid 30 minutes sitting in traffic to get to Lombard street in the first place. If you're not interested in the traffic, do what hundreds of other tourists do and park on a nearby street or in a nearby garage. Then, you can make the steep (but worth it) hike up to the beginning of the street and walk down it yourself. Marvel at the houses on the side of Lombard street, photobomb a tourist's picture, and get your own view of the world's curviest road!
  • One of a kind place on earth. This place is crowded on weekends and holidays. If you plan on driving down the street, have enough time on hand. There is lot of free public 2hr parking available on parallel streets to Lombard St. Just walking down the street can be good idea to save on time. Great views, should not miss this attraction if going to San Francisco.
  • It's slightly overrated, but still a very nice place worth taking a drive (after long waits) or a pleasant walk. This place is a windy road in the middle of San Francisco. To the sides of the road there are beautiful flowers. It makes it a wonderful experience to walk down the sidewalk. After the walk, don't miss the opportunity to cross down the road to the other side, to take a picture with this street's backdrop. If you are driving, make sure your breaks are functioning well. I have visited this place like 10 times and will visit again. One of San Francisco's iconic places to visit.
  • 1. We walked from Pier 41, an uphill climb, but well worth it. Stunning landscaping and beautiful water views. 2. There is a bannister along the street, protecting all from cars and for those needing a helping hand. A treasure that is well maintained. 3. Neither buses nor trucks allowed anywhere near this crooked street. 4. It gets quite hot in the summer, so best to grab a hat and plenty of water to avoid dehydration. (No vendors selling water here.)
