  • We enjoy the zoo but with most things, it gets expensive. Train rides and feeding the giraffes are an additional cost as well as rock climbing. Make sure to bring cardboard to ride down ant hill. Not ...  more »

  • I love this zoo. It has all the animals and creatures you need in a small enough area that you can see it all in a half day. The food, however, is outrageously overpriced.$5.50 for a single plain hot dog? Really? There is a lot of open grass area for picnics, which would be a smart thing to do. Recommended for all ages. The drive there is beautiful. Pacific Ocean next to you.
  • Fantastic yet manageable zoo. Saw the whole thing in an hour and could have spent much more time just enjoying the grounds. Great play area for small kids. My kids are loving the science curriculum. Very pleasant garden like atmosphere and some amazing animals. Condors, bald eagles and gorillas 🦍 were my favorites.
  • This is a great place to bring the entire family regardless of age! There is something for everyone to do. One of the highlights is getting to hand feed the giraffes some treats and getting to ride the train. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout the entire park. There’s a good size play area for young kids that was really neat and a great opportunity for parents to take a seat for a bit! Price was pretty fair given the size of the zoo ($17). The entire zoo is wheelchair accessible including parking, bathrooms, ramps, etc.
  • This was my first time to the Santa Barbara zoo, and it was really fun. My wife and I brought our 16 month old boy, and we all had a good time. He really loved seeing the giraffes and I think he liked feeding them. When we first got there, we asked the parking attendant if we had to pay for parking if we were going to buy an annual pass, and he very nicely let us go in without paying for a parking pass. We did buy an annual pass, and it will pay for itself after just 2 visits. All of the exhibits were really cool to see, and I wish we could've stayed around more to see some of the "talks" led by some zoo employees at some of the exhibits, but we had to leave because my son was tired. I think you can see the whole park and all the exhibits in about half a day. We ate food in the park, and it was expectedly pricey and average in flavor at best. I had a burger, and my wife had the turkey melt.
  • This is a great zoo. Perfect for little ones especially. The annual pass is very affordable if you like to go more than once. Staff is nice. Never too crowded. You can see it all in an hour or two.
