White House, Washington DC

3.8
The simple name is doesn’t match the power that comes with White House. This recognizable house serves as the home and workplace of the president of the United States. Originally completed in 1800, the building has housed every U.S. President. Its exterior showcases Neoclassical architectural style, including Greek columns and its signature white facade. The complex itself contains the presidential residence, the West and East Wings, and an executive office building. The Oval Office within the West Wing hosts many of the president's daily meetings and acts as the nerve center for the entire building. To tour the White House, you must arrange your visit through a Member of Congress. Tour reservations are extremely limited. Even if you can't go on a tour, be sure to walk by to see the exterior of this famous residence. • Is not the best, not the biggest, not the best place, but it is just the most prominent. From this party with a high fence and patrol the policijí, from the other side can be seen from a distance of about 700 m. But it's just the White House and a photo with him you must have.

  • I highly recommend TOURING INSIDE The White House in person. According to the official website, "Anyone visiting DC can experience the history and art of the White House in person by submitting a tour request through one’s Member of Congress. If you wish to visit the White House and are a citizen of a foreign country, please contact your embassy in Washington, DC for assistance in submitting a tour request." During my first tour of The White House, the President was home and he took the time to greet visitors in person. I returned for another tour when a different presidential family occupied the national mansion. Although the President was not home, I was pleasantly surprised to see that he used technology to welcome guests with a warm and unhurried virtual greeting. Fascinating stories and facts about the people and objects that have occupied this national treasure abound. A knowledgeable staff member shared with me one reason that velvet ropes encourage visitors to enjoy the rooms without touching. The original "wall paper" was made from pure silk, suspended midair between supporting beams, and was designed to be seen but not subjected to any pressure. There is much to learn, reflect upon, and discover on this amazing tour of our national home.
  • Great view, I was actually smaller than I expected, but that's completely fine, no saying it's a bad thing! We were lucky enough to see it covered with snow, and it just makes it more beautiful. Fun fact: look to the smaller hall to the left. Do you see a guard? If so, a member of the presidents family is home!
  • Getting a tour of the White House isn’t the easiest thing to do. We had to ask our congressman’s office months in advance to set it up, but it was worth it! We only got to see the east wing, but it was cool to know that once the tours are over the president actually uses the space we just toured. The Secret Service officials will love to answer any and all questions you might have along the way.
  • A magnificent edifice and structure. It's fully white in color, looks very pretty and beautiful. It's a historical place. It's a Landmark in The United States of America being home and office of the current President of the United States of America. It's tagged under heritage category. It's a gigantic structure. Has many spacious rooms. Tourists can have a tour of the spacious White house during certain days and timings mentioned. Very huge, majestic, magnificent, vibrant. During Christmas it's decorated tastefully with 18,000 lights in the full campus. Huge campus and lawns. The US President takes his morning walks here and jogs here too. Marvelous indeed!
  • Security was long but it’s the White House so not too surprising. Tour was a very cool and interesting experience but I wish they had audio tours. Even though the security guards were very helpful in answering questions about each room, I still would prefer a detailed history of each room.
