When in Arecibo, don’t miss the chance hike up to Aventura Cueva Ventana and enjoy the view. For a fee, you can embark on the privately owned trail to the top of the limestone cliff overlooking the lush green valley of Rio Grande de Arecibo. Bring suitable footwear and explore the cave, on a guided tour or by yourself, spotting interesting rock formations, bats, snakes, and petroglyphs. After admiring the cave's interior, you can bask in the spectacular view of the valley from the cave “window”. Put Aventura Cueva Ventana and other Arecibo attractions into our Arecibo trip itinerary planning site, and watch your holiday take shape.

My kids (teenagers) hate tours and were all pouty when they found out we’d have a tour guide. They both loved it. The caves are impressive, the guide was funny but not over the top, the view was... more »

Such an amazing experience! I was expecting a rigorous hike to get up to the cave but it was actually a very doable downhill hike. We were able to see carvings made by the Taino people thousands of... more »

Ricky was our tour guide and he was absolutely amazing. My mom was initially having some trouble with the steps and terrain in general. He literally took her by the hand and led her the whole way. He was very patient and made her feel comfortable. Ricky shared some interesting details along the way about the rock formations and the bats. The views of the mountains were beautiful. The experience itself was lovely, and Ricky made it even more pleasant.

Truly a beautiful experience. It’s $19 per person but if you go online and pay online I paid $33 for two people which was equal to $16.50 per person. Worth the money. You visit two caves and the tour guide we had was extremely knowledgeable. Reserve online to ensure there is availability during the time you want to go especially if visiting during pandemic (covid). Glori (our tour guide) was GREAT! She was extremely knowledgeable, answered all questions, showed us things along the trail not only in the cave and was extremely friendly. Wear good footwear (No open toe) because there is a lot of walking, exposed roots and rocks along the way. They are supposed to be opening a new route to another cave or two in the area in the summer. (Hopefully still on track) I would love to come back and explore some more. We got to see some fruit bats. Great experience with a lot of information.
