From the end of Mosquito Pier look back to stunning views of Viques and the Puerto Rican mainland. Built in 1941, the pier stretches out a mile off the coast, with deep tan, golden sand beaches and vibrant blue waters flanking each side. Snorkel with sea turtles, who often appear in the waters underneath and around the pier. Take a relaxing turn along the pier, then pop your scuba gear on and enjoy the excellent snorkelling conditions. • We ended up here a little late in the day to see the turtles, but the sunset was totally worth it from the end of the pier.

  • This is an old navel pier on the North side of Vieques with plenty of places to fish and launch boats. The pier goes out considerably into the sea and offers great views and good fishing. My family was able to see a sea turtle while we were visiting the pier in early July. There are a great deal of trucks with boat trailers so be careful parking. There is also a nice little beach on the shore at the beginning of the pier. You can snorkel from that beach along the pier and see quite a few interesting organisms like star fish.
  • Beautiful drive and view. We heard it was a good snorkeling spot, but we didn't see anybody in the water. From the pier, we saw many fishes, jellyfish, and one turtle. I want to come back with a guided snorkeling tour.
