Lake George — 4 nights

Queen of the American Lakes

A playground for America’s wealthy families, Lake George was nicknamed "Queen of the American Lakes." While these families often stayed in private country houses, a tourism industry built up around them in the early 20th century facilitated by two YMCAs.
Explore Lake George's surroundings by going to Ticonderoga (Fort Ticonderoga & Star Trek Original Series Set Tour) and Natural Stone Bridge and Caves (in Pottersville). There's much more to do: explore the activities along Lake George, get engrossed in the history at Fort William Henry Museum, find something for the whole family at Magic Forest, and stroll around Rogers Memorial Park.
