The Capital of the South

Georgia’s largest city and capital, Atlanta is a thriving metropolis anchored by its southern roots.
Explore Atlanta's surroundings by going to Stone Mountain Park (in Stone Mountain), Blue Ridge (Mercier Orchards & Humble Pie Boutique) and Rolling Thunder River Company (in McCaysville). There's still lots to do: admire the natural beauty at Atlanta Botanical Garden, see the interesting displays at World of Coca-Cola, admire the striking features of Fox Theatre, and walk around Centennial Olympic Park.

To find ratings, other places to visit, where to stay, and tourist information, you can read our Atlanta driving holiday planner.

Cleveland to Atlanta is an approximately 4-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a bus. When traveling from Cleveland in September, plan for somewhat warmer days and about the same nights in Atlanta: temperatures range from 84°F by day to 67°F at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 15th (Tue) to allow enough time to travel back home.
