Start off your visit on the 15th (Sat): get engrossed in the history at Wounded Knee: The Museum, brush up on your military savvy at Delta-09 Missile Silo, and then look for all kinds of wild species at Roberts Prairie Dog Town. Generally considered to be the oldest town established by European Americans in the Black Hills, Custer began as a mining town.
On the 22nd (Sat), get a new perspective on nature at Native American Educational and Cultural Center, get a new perspective on nature at The Museum @ Black Hills Institute, then look for gifts at Granite Sports, and finally hike along Little Devil's Tower Trail. On the next day, contemplate the waterfront views at Legion Lake, then explore the activities along Stockade Lake, and then hike along Sunday Gulch Trail.
